FIRE RETARDANTS

Borates especially zinc borate and boric acid /borax mixtures are used in various materials such as timber, cellulosic insulation, PVC and textiles as flame retardants.

Boron, suppresses combustion by blocking the contact of burning material with oxygen. Boron treated materials provide a safer environment by inhibiting the ignition and slowing up the spread of flames.

Flame retardant boron products can be applied to the materials by spraying or dipping process.
